Nature’s Net
Translation by Tree Buffalo
Fearless courage leads to death; fearful courage leads to life.
These two things sometimes benefit, sometimes injure.
Who knows the reasons for what the world hates?
This is why the wise person finds things difficult.
Because the natural world does not compete but is good at winning.
It does not speak but is good at responding.
It is not called but appears of its own accord.
It has a slow manner but is good at planning.
Nature’s net is very wide open indeed, yet nothing slips through.
