Remember the Whole

The Universe is immortal, and the Earth is ancient.
The reason the Universe is immortal and the Earth is ancient is they do not give life to themselves.
They give it to each other, and as a result are forever reborn.
From this, the wise person takes their cue.
They put themselves behind in order to be in front, and they disregard their person in order to preserve it.
Is it not by forgetting the parts, that they remember the whole?
